Adam, Caitlin, Garrett. Amazingly, we had IU alumni in cars calling out the IU jerseys along the trip.
A long downhill through scrub. At one point along this route, a horse that had gotten loose ran along beside us on the road, keeping up as we rode ~30 mph.
Start of steep (up to 14% grade) ~5-mile climb out of Calf Creek in brutal heat.
Top of the Escalades, first the climb out of Calf Creek, then a loooong ~10 mile climb to the top. Caitlin had a respiratory bug closing up her throat and at one point was laying on the ground part way up the climb hyperventilating due to the altitude. _And_ part of a 140-mile riding day.
Yep, was an incredible view.
