ATLAS Postdoctoral Position with Indiana University

The Indiana University High Energy group on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider seeks an outstanding applicant for a postdoctoral fellowship, beginning immediately or at a negotiated time. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in High Energy Particle Physics demonstrating experience in physics analysis, as well as in detector hardware, electronics, or computing; preferably on a colliding beam experiment. The successful applicant will be expected to reside at CERN .

The ATLAS Indiana group was responsible for the design and fabrication of the barrel transition radiation tracker (TRT) and has continuing roles in TRT operations and enhancements, as well as in studies for future upgrades to the ATLAS trigger system. We also operate an ATLAS Tier 2 computing site at Indiana University in collaboration with the University of Chicago. We participate in a wide range of analyses, including Higgs and exotic particle searches and B physics studies. Successful candidates will be expected to take on leading roles in both physics analysis and hardware or software work.
